The Rev. Matt Hansen

The Rev. Matt Hansen was called as the 33rd pastor of St. John's in 2024. 

Prior to ministry, Pastor Matt spent nearly a decade in marketing and advertising. During these years he primarily worked in social media for both brands and agencies as a freelancer and full-time strategist.

In 2013, Matt graduated from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN, with a bachelor’s degree in political science and sociology. After a decade in the Midwest, he relocated back to the South to begin his ministry journey. In 2024, he graduated with a Master of Divinity from the Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary in Columbia, SC.

Outside of ministry, he is passionate about travel and spending time with his dogs, Timber and Willow.
