Preschool

Come and let your child discover wonder, where joyful learning and gentle faith kindle hope for tomorrow.

More than a preschool

St. John’s Preschool is more than a classroom—it’s a warm beginning to a lifelong journey of curiosity, kindness, and belonging. In bright spaces and shaded playgrounds, children learn through play, story, music, and friendship while being lovingly guided by a dedicated director and caring teachers. Families are welcomed into the wider St. John’s community, where questions are honored, character is shaped, and faith is introduced as naturally as a lullaby. Whether your child arrives shy, bold, or somewhere in between, this is a safe place to grow, to be known by name, and to take the next joyful step together.

Approach

Learning through love and play

Children learn best when they feel secure, valued, and free to explore. Our play-based curriculum encourages creativity, communication, and compassion while gently introducing letters, numbers, and faith-filled stories. Every moment, from circle time to playground adventures, is shaped by joy, patience, and purpose.

Teachers & Classrooms

A team that knows every child by name

Our teachers combine early childhood expertise with a genuine calling to nurture young hearts. Small class sizes allow personal attention and meaningful connections with each child. From our 2-Year-Old and 3-Year-Old classes to Pre-K, every classroom balances structure and discovery, preparing children for the next step academically and spiritually.

Tuition & Enrollment

An investment in lifelong growth

We believe preschool should be both excellent and accessible. St. John’s offers competitive tuition and flexible enrollment for families throughout Cabarrus County. Tuition includes all daily learning materials and activities. Our director is happy to discuss class availability, registration, and tuition options that best fit your family.

Joyful routines, meaningful moments

Each day begins with a warm welcome and ends with a smile. Children engage in imaginative play, music, art, outdoor exploration, and story time, building both skills and friendships. Simple chapel moments introduce gratitude and kindness in ways little ones understand. Parents are invited to celebrate milestones throughout the year, from art shows to classroom programs.

Family Connection: You belong here, too

When a child enrolls at St. John’s, the whole family becomes part of our community. Pastor Matt is available for conversation, prayer, or a quick hello at drop-off. Many preschool families later find a church home here, drawn by the same sense of warmth and belonging they first encountered in the classroom.

Frequently Asked Questions

What ages do you serve?

We welcome children beginning at 1 year old through Pre-K (typically age 5). Each class is grouped by developmental stage, with low ratios and nurturing teachers who meet children right where they are.

What is your teaching philosophy?

In a Christian, caring, and positive environment, we strive to create a warm and joyful place where children can grow, discover, and learn. As we help bridge the gap from home to school, our goal is to nurture each child’s God-given uniqueness, support a healthy self-image, and guide them in building strong social skills in an age-appropriate, developmentally appropriate setting.

Sensory, motor, perceptual, and language skills are introduced through a balance of child-centered exploration and teacher-guided activities. We design work that emphasizes the process rather than the final product, allowing children to experience success, pride, and a sense of accomplishment.

Because children learn best through play, our daily routines encourage active involvement, meaningful experimentation, hands-on discovery, and reinforcement through repetition. Our schedules are thoughtfully planned to provide a gentle balance of structure and free choice, as well as active and quiet moments.

Recognizing that children grow through predictable developmental stages, we honor each child as an individual -meeting them where they are and guiding them forward, one loving step at a time. We teach a love for learning by giving children the freedom to explore their world, embrace their current stage of development, and feel successful without pressure.

We also deeply value the active involvement of parents in our program. We believe learning is a shared journey, and when home and school partner together, children thrive. With God’s love at the center of all we do, we look forward to supporting each child throughout their developmental and educational journey.

Do families need to be members of the church?

Not at all! We welcome families of all backgrounds. Many begin with the preschool and later find a church home at St. John’s, but enrollment is open to everyone.

How do I schedule a tour or register?

You can schedule a tour online or contact our Preschool Director by phone at 1-704-436-9274. After visiting, you’ll receive an enrollment packet with tuition details and available class times.

What safety measures do you follow?

All staff members are fully background-checked and trained in CPR and First Aid. Our campus remains secure during class hours, and we follow all local health and safety guidelines to keep children well and parents confident. For added peace of mind, we also have security cameras monitoring both inside and outside of the building.
